The Canberra Chill’s own Davis Atkin, Anand Gupte and Ben Staines have received their long-awaited call up to the Australian Men’s Senior National Hockey Team – the Kookaburras.
In a massive upset over the dominant NSW and WA state teams, Hockey ACT’s U21 Men’s team have come home victorious with a gold medal win against WA at the 2023 Hockey Australia Indoor Championships.
Hockey ACT and its bidding partners acknowledge and accept the outcome of the Hockey Australia’s Centre of Excellence expression of interest process and would like to congratulate Hockey Western Australia and the Western Australian Government on their success in retaining the program in Perth and the strength of their application.
Hockey ACT is excited to relaunch its Emerging Pathways Program in 2023. The Emerging Chill program (formerly Emerging Talent Squad) will provide development opportunities for high potential athletes through skill development trainings, tactical analysis, strength and conditioning programming and high-performance workshops.

For the first time since 2019 the Hockey ACT Community have been able to come together in one location to celebrate their annual Brophy McKay Medal evening. The night celebrates the accomplishments across administration, umpiring and high performance with the two major awards being the McKay Medal to the Canberra Labor Club Women’s Capital League One player of the year and the Brophy Medal to the Duncans Plumbing Men’s Capital League One player of the year.
