National Insurance Program
Hockey ACT, through the National Insurance Program in partnership with Honan Sport, provides comprehensive insurance coverage for all registered affiliated associations, clubs, officials, coaches, voluntary workers and players.
Coverage Period: The National Hockey Insurance Program is effective from 1 January to 31 December annually.
Insurance Coverage: The program includes the following insurance coverage:
- Public Liability Insurance: Provides protection against claims for property damage or personal injury to third parties.
- Club Management Liability Insurance: Covers legal costs and damages arising from claims of professional negligence.
- Personal Injury Insurance: Offers financial support in case of injuries to players, coaches, officials, and volunteers.
- Certificate of Currency - A Certificate of Currency is a legal document that demonstrates you have current Public Liability Insurance. This document is sometimes required by Council and/or Facility Management.
In respect to the Personal Accident coverage the schedule of benefits should be considered as basic and entry level. Hockey ACT encourages all players and others covered by this policy to take out private health insurance. Individuals wishing to make a claim under the insurance policy can do so by following these steps:
Step 1 – Go to the Honan Sport page, complete and lodge the claim form request
Step 2 – Once your claim is lodged with Sports Cover, a representative will be in contact with you to provide you with the next steps of the claim
