PRIMARY SCHOOLS GALA DAY

The Hockey ACT Primary School Gala Day is a great opportunity for students to develop their skills and enjoy a fun day of hockey with other school teams. Schools can enter miixed teams from years 3/4 and/or 5/6. We welcome students of all ages, abilities and skill levels and are proud to be able to provide modified equipment to make the game more inclusive for all students.

• Day: Wednesday 3rd May, 2023
• Time: 9am – 3pm
• Location: National Hockey Centre, Lyneham
• Cost: Free
• Equipment: Provided by Hockey ACT

Games

• 25 minute games (2 x 10 minute halves with 5 minute half time)
• 1/4 field games
• Modified rules - sent to schools after registration

Teams

• 6- a side teams (we suggest teams have up to 10 players)
• Mixed gendered
• 2 divisions: years 3/4 & yeras 5/6

Hockey equipement - provided by HACT

• Plastic Hockey Sticks
• Smooth/light Junior hockey balls
• Goal Keeping Kit - not required

*we recommend all participants bring a mouthguard and shin pads
