Registrations are now open for the U14 ACT teams to play in the U14 National Carnival.

Team Selections and Training

Attending both trials is preferred, however, we understand that with travel and other commitments, you may not be able to make both trials. We therefore ask people to attend at least 1 trial in the first stage of the trials process.

To assist our selectors, trials will consist of key technical assessments, match play and fitness. Please note along with the formal trials process, selectors will be present across the June Long Weekend Carnival to also assist with assessments and watching players compete over an extended carnival setting.

In the days following the second trial, we will look to select a broad squad of approximately 26-32 players to continue to Stage 2 of our selection process.

STAGE 1 TRIALS

Boys

Monday 17^th June 4.30 – 6.00pm, Lyneham Hockey Centre, Carter Field

Monday 1^st July 6.00 – 7.30pm, Lyneham Hockey Centre, Carter Field

Girls

Monday 24^th June 4.30 – 6.00pm, Lyneham Hockey Centre, Carter Field

Monday 1^st July 4.30 – 6.00pm, Lyneham Hockey Centre, Carter Field

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the session to have your name marked off and receive your playing bib.
 

STAGE 2 TRIALS

Boys

Wednesday 24^th July 4.30 – 6.00pm, Lyneham Hockey Centre, Carter Field

Monday 29^th July 4.30 – 6.00pm, Lyneham Hockey Centre, Carter Field

Girls

Monday 22^nd July 4.30- - 6.00pm, Lyneham Hockey Centre, Carter Field

Wednesday 31^st July 4.30 – 6.00pm, Lyneham Hockey Centre, Carter Field

Final team selections will be announced on Friday 2^nd August with Training beginning Monday the 5^th August.

Please note the coaches and selectors have the ability to select a team between 16-18 players to travel to Perth and the number of shadow players will generally be between 3-5 players. Shadow players are invited to train with the team up until the championships and have the ability to be called into the team should an injury or illness occur.

Please note: Registration will incur a $20 fee to assist with field hire for selection Trials.

An information night for parents of selected players will be held on Monday 7th August at 6pm immediately after training. 

Please note: the Hockey ACT Travel and Accommodation policies for the U14 National Championship Teams.

Families of all players who are selected are required to book and arrange their own transport and accommodation for the U14 National Championships and this comes at their own additional expense. Hockey ACT U14 teams will not be traveling as a team at the National Championships. Hockey ACT and Sportslink Travel are working to create cost effective packages that will keep the teams as together as possible. These packages will be made available to families on selection to the team.
