Hockey ACT's Walking Hockey Christmas Party!

Get your friends, family and work colleagues together for an afternoon of walking hockey. The games will be run at the National Hockey Centre in Lyneham on a short sided field. Teams are made up of all ages, abilities and genders. All equipment is provided by Hockey ACT and will consist of plastic sticks & balls. The day is an opportunity to get together and celebrate the year with your friends and family!

Date: Saturday 4th December

Time: 3pm – 6pm

Location: National Hockey Centre Lyneham

Cost: $100 per team (which includes $100 Pick Up Stix Voucher)


Games

20 minute games comprised of 2 x 10 minute halves

Spirit points awarded to teams playing in the spirit of the game

Facilitated by ground managers


Equipment

Equipment will be provided by Hockey ACT. The following equipment will be used for all participants during walking hockey games.

  • Jball Sticks
  • Jball Pads
  • Minkey Balls

*All equipment will be wiped and disinfected after each game

Walking Hockey Rules

1. Games in this competition are two, ten (10) minute halves centrally timed played on a 1/8th field.

2. Games are played in pools with all teams playing 1 final.

3. Teams are made up of mixed gender players of all ages.

4. Walking only

5. Shots at goal may NOT be HIT or RAISED.

6. The ball may only be pushed, no lifting will be permitted anywhere on the field.

7. There are no goalies

7. There will be no Penalty Corners/Strokes. Instead a one-on-one Penalty Shoot-out will occur. An attacker cannot take two shoot-out’s in a row. To start a shoot-out, the attacker positions the ball on the top of the circle and the defender starts inside the goal. All other players are behind the 23m line and at least 10m from the attacker.

8. Each game will be self-umpired by teams. There will be a ground manager on duty to assist with facilitating.
