This week, our women's have been forced into making a couple changes with Catriona Bailey-Price and Claudia Johnston coming out of the game against Adelaide with injuries.
Sarah White will player her first game of the 2023 JDH Hockey One season, as Mikayla Evans returns from injury.
After making his debut last week, Jesse Absolom suffered an injury in training and gives an opportunity for Aiden Dooley to return.
Koby Johnstone will play his first game for the Canberra Chill as this week's sole debutant across both the men's and women's, James Jewell the player making way.
INJURY UPDATE
Unfortunately this season, the Chill has seen key squad members suffer significant innjury, including Kookaburra's keeper, Andrew Charter who was ruled out for the season before squad's were announced.
Heartbreakingly, Emily Robson has sadly been ruled out for the remainder of season after suffering an ACL injury in her Hockey One return against the Tassie Tigers.
The worst was initially feared for Catriona Bailey-Price's knee after her game ended early against the Fire in Adelaide, however, recent scans show that the injury is not as bad as first thought.
Claudia Johnstone also suffered an injury against the Fire. An ankle knock will keep Johnston out for this week and will be a test to return after the bye.
After making his debut on Saturday in Adelaide, Jesse Absolom has unfortunately damaged his hamstring, it is yet to be known the significance of the injury.
Anand Gupte has now been ruled out for the remainder of the Hockey One season after injuring his hamstring before round 1. There was hope that Gupte could be a chance to return by the latter end of the season, however his hamstring has not recovered quickly enough for that to be possibility.
Summary:
Catriona Bailey-Price - Knee (TBC)
Claudia Johnston - Ankle (1 week)
Em Robson - ACL (Season)
Jesse Absolom - Hamstring (TBC)
Anand Gupte - Hamstring (Season)
