Hockey ACT Receives Sport AUS Women Leaders in Sport Grant
Hockey ACT is excited to announce an upcoming Women Leaders in Sport Development Program for Hockey ACT members and wider community. Thanks to the generosity of Sport Australia who manages the Women Leaders in Sport program through the support of the Office for Women.
Commencing 4th February, 2022; the masterclass is designed to increase and develop the leadership capabilities of women, female identifying and non-binary members in Hockey ACT. It is targeted towards the leaders in the Hockey ACT workplace, club committee members, high performance coaches and officials.
The masterclass will be facilitated by Carol Fox, acknowledged as an Australian Financial Review 100 Women of Influence for her contribution to women in sport. Carol brings thirty years of expertise and experience in elite sport performance to ensure leaders eliminate self-doubt and build more confidence, so they enjoy positive interactions at work and achieve successful outcomes (www.carolfox.com/about). Carol’s experience and passion for grassroots sport through to elite sport is the perfect fit for the varied leaders and emerging leaders in the Hockey ACT community to strengthen leadership pathways within the sport.
Hockey ACT has a significant and near-equal participation of women and female identifying members. However this dramatically drops within positions of leadership. It is important that Hockey ACT are able to support women in senior roles across all facets of the sport. This masterclass and program will increase our capacity to assist and provide further learning opportunities to our members.
Applications are now open for leaders from the Hockey ACT community (club committee members, coaches, officials) to participate in this masterclass on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th February, 2022 at the National Hockey Centre.
