CONGRATULATIONS RAY DORSETT

Serving hockey from grassroots to high performance over many years, Ray Dorsett has been honoured with the Order of Australia Medal.

Ray Dorsett has dedicated countless hours to hockey as a player, coach, umpire, manager, and board member over his life. During his time at Hockey ACT, Ray was a part of many ACT athlete’s journeys, coaching them to be better players. As a director of the Hockey ACT Board, High Performance Committee and Central Hockey Club Committee, Ray has helped guide and grow hockey in Canberra.

Ray’s standard of service led him to several national roles with Hockey Australia. By managing the Kookaburras at the Olympics, Commonwealth Games and other international competitions, Ray is no stranger to high performance hockey. As a leader, Ray was a part of a highly successful period for the Kookaburras, notably, winning the Gold Medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics. Ray’s extensive knowledge and understanding of the high-performance environment was evident at the Australian Institute of Sport, as a Coach Advisor and High-Performance Advisor.

Hockey ACT is extremely proud of Ray, his service, and achievements. Hockey ACT is grateful for his contribution to hockey and sends the heartiest congratulations.
