*Feature Games Saturday 28th May, 2022
Hockey ACT acknowledges the traditional owners of the land on which we play our great game.
We pay our respects to Elders, past present and emerging.
Hockey ACT's Reconciliation Round acknowledges the contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to Hockey and to our community. The round celebrates the culture, histories and stories and ensures this legacy is highlighted throughout our competitions, events, and operations.
Hockey ACT in conjunction with the Reconciliation Action Committee are committed to ensuring we better educate ourselves and our community as we continue to work towards reconciliation. Hockey ACT would like to thank the Reconciliation Action Committee who is made up of: Tarran Backhus (Chair), Peta Derham, Stirling Sharpe, Garry Backhus and Nicole Bettiol for their work in making this round a possibility. The Hockey ACT Reconciliation Round is able to be delivered thanks to the generous support of the ACT Government through the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Grant.
Club Involvement
For the inaugural year, the following teams and matches will be highlighted for the round. The selection was based on the involvement of members in the Reconciliation Action Committee, and the hard work they contributed in the lead-up. We hope to expand club involvement in the years to come.
