Umpire Technical Committee
Published Mon 01 Mar 2021
The Umpiring and Technical Committee (UTC) is currently seeking three new members to join the committee for the 2021 and 2022 season (two year term).
In line with the attached terms of reference, the primary role of the UTC is to manage officiating matters in the ACT (including appointments and development), and to provide advice to Hockey ACT on officiating matters (including representative level appointments, complaints and other feedback, and representing officials in office matters).
To apply to become a member of the UTC, a (up to) 300 word EOI should be submitted to stirling.sharpe@hockeyact.org.au detailing why you would like to join the UTC and an outline of the skill set that you will bring to the committee. If you would like to have a discussion about potentially joining the UTC then please email Stirling and a suitable time to talk will be arranged.
Please note, it is not a requirement to be an elite level umpire to join the UTC. The UTC has a strategic vision and plan across all officiating matters including State League expansion, technical officiating, the JOEYS program expansion, and culture change in addition to the activities already undertaken such as capital league appointments, umpire development and accreditation, and professional development of all officials.
It is intended to appoint at least two females for the three positions available. Expressions of Interest close on March 10. Successful applicants will be notified before March 14. The UTC will be meeting in the week commencing March 15
