The Level 1 Coach Accreditation Program is designed to train coaches in the fundamental concepts of coaching including group management and organisation, developing effective training sessions, performing the role of match day coach and ensuring the safety and enjoyment of players.

It is an enjoyable and convenient program involving an online learning session, an applied learning quiz, a practical training program run by your association and a practical evaluation. The program is directed towards teachers, parents, players and coaches who are involved in coaching modified versions of the game or beginner level club hockey.

To gain a Level 1 Coach Accreditation you must complete the following;

1. Register for the Level 1 Coach Accreditation on HockeyEd here. Please note there is a $50 HockeyEd registration fee paid to Hockey Australia.

2. Complete the Sport Aust Community General Coaching Principles online course (Coaches with teacher training are exempt, but need to present a scanned copy of their teaching qualification).

3. Read the material contained in the 4 modules under the Learning section.

4. Register and complete practical training program with Hockey ACT. Please note there is a $65 program fee paid to Hockey ACT

5.  Be practically assessed - in training and match situations.
